Investment & Partnership

Alberta Ingenuity, which operates the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Science and Engineering Research, has invested up to $9 million over five years in the Centre for In Situ Energy.

The Centre’s research is oriented to ensure it has technological impact. It is essential for us to build and maintain an effective relationship with the industry involved in oil sands and heavy oil exploitation and technology commercialization. We are now seeking collaboration and investment from the energy industry sector, government, other research organizations and other partners to build a Centre that will deliver a step-change in in situ oil sands recovery and upgrading. We especially welcome partners with field operations suitable for test site and technology demonstration activities.

ShellShell International E&P/Shell Canada Limited became the Centre’s first Founding Industry Member on September 14, 2005. Shell’s contribution demonstrates that the company shares a pioneering vision for the research and development of sustainable in situ recovery and upgrading of heavy oils and bitumen in the reservoir.

We invite energy companies, governments, research organizations and other potential partners that share our vision and ambition to join us in our work. We offer several levels of participation and investment in the Alberta Ingenuity Centre for In Situ Energy, including:

* Centre Industry Membership
* Centre Industry Associates
* Contractual Membership
